Other than the wind, the weather was spot on and I had an a really good time riding. I was fortunate to make it through this whole race without accidentally shutting the bike off once, so that I'mproved my overall race time quite a bit. I want to thank Garry, Todd and Chris for their help as Brandon and I would have struggled to get through one day of riding without them... mush less 2 weeks! All in all the 2010 TT was an amazing experience and I can't wait till next year when we get to try our hands at the mountain course again!

RIP Paul Dobbs

Just got back to the place after a long day....
Race 2 didnt go as good as planned. Brandon hasn't been feeling too well over the weekend due to a cold so he spent most of the day just hanging out around the house trying to rest and recover before our first race tomorrow. We took the Manx Electric Railway to the Laxey Wheel and then up to the top of Snaefell Mountain. It was an amazing tour of the island and I highly recommend it if you ever get the chance.

Right now Brandon and I are just trying to get some rest so we're ready for the big day tomorrow. On my last lap on nearly the last turn of the course right before you dip into Governors Bridge I went in a bit too hot had to run off and unfortunutely there were 4ft cones blocking my way! I ran over one of them and after landing from my cone jump the bike stalled and I fell over at about 5 mph. So I felt like a super retard especially with a bunch of people watching right there but oh well, shit happens
I actually only fell over to make Jimmy feel better, it was all planned!! haha
In my second lap (before my tip-over) I upped the pace to 107mph and Im sure the 3rd lap was faster but Ill never know now.... :-)
Tomorrow is another day and I cant wait to get out again!
Jimmy also upped the pace on his 600 to 112.9mph! A few parts of the course were soaking wet today, mainly just under the trees in the shaded spots, so I had to go pretty steady through a few of them. Even with the less than ideal conditions Brandon was able to improve his times from yesterday. The last turn on the course is called Governor's Bridge and it had standing water in it. I came through the turn and as I pulled out on to what I thought was dry pavement I started to pick up the gas a bit... Well I guess my tire still had water on it and the pavement was damp so those two things, in conjunction with the fact that I'm retarded, put my butt on the ground. The bike isn't bad and we should have it ready for tomorrow so lets hope for a better practice day then.

Brandon was able to get a solid 2 laps in, then upon refueling we noticed a pinhole leak in his radiator so his day was done as well. It looks like we're going to have a lot to do to get ready for practice tomorrow, but thanks to all the help that Garry, Todd, Chris, Kevin and Johnny are giving us I'm sure we'll be good to go.

Today was a great day........
I took out the street bike Milky let us borrow at 7AM this morning to get some more experience on the course but couldnt go over the mountain as it was still closed. Mike Crellin, a local and former TT racer, rode with me and gave some good advice.
Jimmy and I both completed our the first real practice of the week on the TT Mountain Course this evening, it was a beautiful afternoon and the course was dry all around!!
I was nervous as I have ever been before I went out for first practice but once I got moving that all went away and I just had an awesome time....
Everything went great and we are both stoked with our laps and our bikes......Jimmy especially! We cant thank the crew helping us out enough; Gary, Todd, Chris and the HEL guys Kevin and Johnny
Now the first time jitters are a bit calmed down so I am already looking forward to tomorrows practice!

Well... The weather was nice today, but unfortunately we don't ride on Sundays. We got a ton of work done on the 1000 and are almost 100% ready for tomorrows practice. I've gotta give it up to the three main guy's helping Brandon and I out for this event... Garry, Todd and Chris... I'm not sure what we'd do without them. The weather forecast for tomorrow is looking good right now so let's just hope it stays that way. Milky gave me a street bike to go out and do some laps on today and once again I was reminded of why I don't ride on the open roads. I got onto the mountain section of the course where it is now one way and there is no speed limit and started to get on the gas and pick the pace up quite a bit. I came into Guthries Memorial, a 6th gear left hander, and all of a sudden the bike started sliding like crazy. I thought I was about to crash when I looked out of the corner of my eye and saw someone piled up into the fence on the outside of the turn. I thought for sure that I was going to fall and slide directly into the guy, but somehow I was lucky enough that the bike stayed on 2 wheels. Once I made it though the corner I saw a few bikes, a cop, and a car pulled off to the side of the road so I pulled right up to them. I told them that someone had just gone down and the cop just looked at me and said that he already knew that. I was like "No, someone just crashed and there is nobody with him." and at that point he realized what I was saying and took off running down the road towards the crash scene. I then looked at the car that was pulled off on the side of the road and saw a giant puddle of oil under it. It turns out the car had blown it's motor and put oil down all through the turn and he was trying to get the cop to close the mountain road so no one would crash in it. Anyway, it was just a reminder of why I prefer to only ride in places where there are corner marshalls and people to inspect the racing surface and warn you of any potential hazards.

After that incident I continued on my way over the mountain and it was great to be able to use the whole road so I could ride on the racing line I'll be using all week. I was happy that I did it at least once before practice tomorrow so now I feel a bit more prepared. I'll be sure to update everyone on how the first official practice goes!

Cheers!

Jimmy V

<br
